Our History
In 1893 our Blubaugh ancestor, Cletus Blubaugh, was one of the youngest participants to stake a claim in the Cherokee Strip Land Run, the largest land run in U.S. history. Cletus lived in a dug-out for seven years and eventually purchased the current site of the BAR from an Osage Tribe member. Marvin Blubaugh expanded the farm operations from the 1940's to the 1990's. His son and grandson continue to manage the 2,000 acre farm as well as run the large Angus Cattle operation. The facility includes the home built in early statehood during the height of the oil boom, vintage barns, historic wooden granary, murals, cattle, horses, oil tanks, farm equipment, and nearby pastures.
